Fall is my favorite season. To me, it's a time to shed the old and start the new. I love the beauty of the red and gold-colored leaves on the trees. The fresh cooling air. I don't like the shorter days though. I pull out my knitting and crave comfort food.
The holidays are just around the corner and a new year is fast approaching. It's time to reflect on where we're at. Where we were mentally, spiritually and physically when this year started. It's amazing how much we can change in 3/4 of a year.
Have you hit your goals this year? If so, Congratulations! I hope and pray you continue to dream and reach higher.
If you haven't, there's still time. Grab that pad of paper and your favorite pen. Find a quiet place where you can just "Be." Reflect on the year, revisit your goals, and make a plan. This isn't a time to beat yourself up. Life happens and sometimes we're just not a prepared as we thought. Maybe your plan wasn't right for you. Maybe you didn't have the support you needed. Spend time going deep within and being honest with yourself, write down what went wrong. What in you needs to change so you can reach your goals? Again, this is not about beating yourself up; it's about getting to the root of your "what went wrong." Once you get to the root, it's easy to pull it out and move forward.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the victim mentality. The "poor me, I failed again. whine." That's not healthy and you won't ever move forward if you continue in that mindset. We are all vulnerable to falling into a victim role when bad things happen. If something traumatic happens such as a job loss, divorce, health crisis, etc it's easy for that victim mindset to get a strong-hold on us. I've been there. It's not pretty from any side. If you allow yourself to stay there, you attract more traumatic situations. This keeps feeding the victim. It reinforces your thoughts of "nothing good ever happens to me, I can't, it just doesn't work." If this is where you're at, be honest with yourself so you can get free.
We have 3 months left in this year. That's plenty of time to lose weight, make more money, get healthy, or whatever your goal is. Don't give up now. Let's go into 2015 healthy, happy and fulfilled.
You're Worth It!
