Rocky Road or Sunflowers

Do you ever wish the road you're on was different? Wonder why yours is rocky and your friends appears to be smooth filled with Sunflowers? Do you find yourself constantly wanting a new life and not seeing anything getting better? I think we can all relate to this at some point in life. For some, life appears to be a bowl full of cherries while you feel like you're getting a bowl of poo. It doesn't seem to matter how hard you pray, how positive you think you are, how hard you work or how many weeks you choke down a salad; nothing seems to change. You get tired, depressed, feel like giving up, and self-pity gets a grip on you. You're not alone. Why? That's right where the enemy of your soul wants you to be. dying on the vine rather than producing fruit.  Guess what? It's time to take control and rise up! Go put on your  boots and let's get you out of the muddy pit.

It's a matter of perspective. What if you're on a bumpy road so you have to slow down and become aware of your surroundings? What if there are beautiful flowers on the side of the road? Sure, you can say, "Heather, I need more than a flower to make my life better." That's true. But what if in that flower you find seeds that are tasty and nourishing to your body? What if the fragrance of that flower uplifted your spirits and your depression left? You wouldn't know it possible when you're head's down and your grumbling and complaining trying to hurry through the mud. What if you took the time to look up and saw that a mere 2 inches to left is a smooth part of the road? We miss so many things when we're focused on what's wrong with our lives. If you don't like your life or something about you, the answer is simple. Change it! Lift your head up, look around at what you want to change and go for it. Nobody is going to do it for you and God has provided you with all you need. If you expect to wake up one day and be thinner, healthier and happier without working on yourself, I'm here to tell you that's a lie from the pit of hell. Ready to change?

Got you boots on? Grab a pen and print this out.

Write down what you want to change, in detail. You can't write down that you want your life to change in every area. If you want to lose weight, write down how much weight you want to lose and set a realistic time frame. Create an action plan. If you want to make more money, your action plan might look like this. I want to make an additional $500 per month by October 30. To achieve this goal I plan to look for a part-time income opportunity that will allow me to work 15 extra hours per week and fit into my current schedule. Get the drift? When you begin to get specific, the mountain becomes a hill that become tiny bumps. This exercise in itself will give you a change in persepective.

Attitude is everything. There is always something to be grateful for. So while you're working hard, praying hard, stopping to enjoy the flowers on the way, turn your misery into joy. Start and end your day with at least 3 things you're grateful for. Get specific.

It's also important to re-connect with yourself. You're all to familiar with what you don't like about yourself and your life but how about what's good about you? What do you love about yourself? Every morning and every evening, write down at least 3 things you love about yourself.

Practice this daily and watch yourself bloom. Your life with produce fruit. Transformation will take place. Joy will be your strength. If you need help, get a copy of My Transformational Journey.  Keep it by your bed as a reminder to do the work.

You're Worth It!

With Love,
