The P's of Life

The P's of Life can fuel us and propel us forward or they paralyze us. It all depends on our perspective and what we choose to believe about ourselves and our lives. My passion is to help people get freed up, healthy, joyful, and living a life they love. As you read this, please don't rush through. In fact, you might want to print this out and use it in your quiet time to reflect on your life, dreams, health and any other areas that may be out of balance. Be grateful for the areas that are going great!

pas·sion - 1 strong and barely controllable emotion. 2 the suffering and death of Jesus. I love these definitions of the word passion. I find it interesting and think we can learn a lot about Jesus just by reading a couple of sentences. What are you passionate about? What is the one thing your life that you love so much that you have to share it with others? This is something that drives you to be your best self.

pur·pose - 1 the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. Everyone has a purpose. That one thing that you know you were created to do. Your life dream! What's yours? Are you living it or just discovering it? Maybe you lost your dream along the way. That's alright. Dream again!

pleas·ure  - 1 a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment. It's ok to have fun! Life is meant to be fun and rewarding, not miserable. Having a purpose that you're passionate about will give you pleasure. Taking up a hobby that brings you pleasure is a healthy thing. What brings you pleasure in life? What hobbies do you enjoy? How about outdoor recreation? These are important to living a healthy life you love.

prom·ise - 1 a declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that a particular thing will happen. 2 assure someone who one will definitely do, give, or arrange something; undertake or declare that something will happen. God has made many promises to us and we've made promises to others. Are you believing God that His promises for you will come to pass? Are you a promise keeper? How about making a promise to yourself today that you'll begin to love yourself in a greater deeper way? That you'll keep going even when the going gets tough?

pri·or·i·ty - 1 a thing that is regarded as more important than another. You are Gods priority! You are your priority! We've been led to believe for so long that making our own health and well-being a priority is selfish that our nation has become sick and exhausted. I'm reminded again of the airplane teaching. Put on your own oxygen mask before helping others; even your own child. Have you made your health, well-being and life purpose a priority? If not, don't panic! You can start today!

per·mis·sion - 1 consent; authorization. God has given you permission to live a ridiculously joyful, passion-filled, life of health and purpose! Give yourself permission and hit the ground running! What are you waiting for?

pro·test - 1 a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something. Don't get me wrong, some things we need to protest but in this context it's not a healthy word. Sometimes, we object to living out our purpose (dreams) because it gets hard. It takes hard work and sometimes going through hard painful times to get to place where we live out our dreams. Sometimes, we have to fight ourselves to get healthy, to press on, to choose joy and peace in the midst of trial.

per·for·mance - 1 the action or process of carrying out or accomplishing an action, task, or function. Performance can be a great thing. If you've been taught that you have to perform to be accepted or loved, it's a bad thing! This kind of performance leads you away from the life you're meant to live. That is a religious way of thinking and it's toxic! Stop running yourself ragged and focus on your dreams, your life purpose! If friends or church leaders get mad, find some new ones that are for you and love you for who you are and not what you can do for them!

pain - 1 physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury. 2 careful effort; great care or trouble. I don't know anyone that likes to be in pain or to suffer. Unfortunately, trials come in life that cause pain. When painful situations come, don't let them paralyze you. If you can't work through it on your own, please seek help so you can move forward. Sometimes, it's painful to move forward because we have bad habits to break and new ones to develop. You can do it! It's so worth it!

pan·ic - 1 sudden uncontrollable fear or anxiety, often causing wildly unthinking behavior. Wow! What a great definition. Some of you are going to get freed up right now! Re-read the definition. OFTEN CAUSING WILDLY UNTHINKING BEHAVIOR!  How many times have those feelings of panic hit and next thing you know, you've completely given up? Given in? Gone back around the same mountain? Stayed miserable? That's wildly unthinking behavior! This is great because next time those negative thoughts set in and sometimes they bring physical symptoms; you can tell it to Stop and instead of walking forward, run! Run through the blockade! Run through the mud! Woo Hoo! I'm excited now!

After you read this, go to Facebook or Twitter and let me know how it's helped you!

You're Worth It!

With Love,
