The Root of it All

Have you ever felt trapped in your current state of being? Like you've tried everything and nothing seems to be working? I  have. It's a terrible feeling. I'll use my journey of going from sick, fat, tired and stressed out to happy, healthy and fulfilled. I was miserable and doing what I thought I was supposed to do. Yet, nothing was working. In fact, I was getting worse in many ways.

Then one day I decided I was done. I was going find a way. I gave up what I had been trying and decided I needed a brand new perspective. It was still a bumpy road at times but had I not had that aha moment, I wouldn't be where I'm at today. It started with a mental breakthrough, which lead to a spiritual breakthrough and the ball just continued to roll from there. I went from trying to push the snowball up the mountain to pushing it up and once I was at the top, I gave it one more push and over it went. That ball is still rolling, getting bigger and more powerful as it goes. Get the picture? I stopped focusing on my symptoms and decided I wanted to get the root and rip that sucker out once and for all.

Sometimes weeds have more than one root surrounding the main one. If we grab at the top of the weed or the base that appears to sit on the soil, we might remove what's visible (symptoms) but that's just a trim. In a few days, the weed is visible again. Sure it might take longer but it'll come back. Many times, it comes back bigger and uglier than before.

I can tell you that self loathing, self-hatred, or if that seem harsh to you, disliking yourself are more often than not, the main root. Well, the root didn't magically appear out of thin air. So where did it come from? It can come from words spoken to you that you may not even remember now but it deeply affected you at the time. It could have come from abuse of some sort.

That's where you get to play detective. Invite God into your process of self discovery and root hunting. Once you know what the root is and where it came from, your ball will be so close to taking off. Coaching can be a huge help during this process. I know you want to live a healthy, happy and fulfilling life. Start on this today.

Make a commitment to get to the root, ask God to show you what that is and where it came from, and get the help you need. You can do it!

You're Worth It!

With Love,
