What Does Eat Healthy Really Mean?

There are thousands of diet books on the market today and I think for good reason. Americans are for the most part, very unhealthy people raising even sicker kids. 10 or so years ago we heard how people were living longer than ever before and it was because of our great healthcare system. WRONG! I believe it was because for a good part of their lives, they ate real food. Today even main stream medical doctors are saying that this is the first generation of kids that most likely won't outlive their parents. Of course they are blaming a sedentary lifestyle and fast food which is only partially true. Bottom line is Americans in general are sick, fat, tired and stressed-out and they are not getting the help they need. In fact, many are being told by their medical doctor that they are fine. They just need to  lose a few pounds. There is nothing fine or okay with having symptoms of any kind. More on that subject in another post. So what is healthy eating? What's the book to choose from in the long list? Is it Paleo, vegan, Atkins, Weight Watchers or what?

Part of the problem we face as Americans is that we and our ancestors come from different parts of the world. The diet that keeps Eskimos healthy is completely different than that of the South Americans and Asians. So how can we say any one particular way of eating is the right way? Truth be told, we can't. What we can do, however, is give you tools and guidelines to help you find out what is best for you. I can tell you it's not a fad diet. There's more to it than what I can fit in this article, but here are some tips to get you well on your way to eating healthy for you.

Eat "Real" food. It might sound too simple but we have lost sight of what real food is. Real food is grown in a garden from organic seed, in healthy soil. It is NOT sprayed with chemicals. It is purchased from the produce department, not the canned food isle. It is meat that is raised on farms that feed the animal what it would naturally eat in the wild. It is NOT fed moldy gmo grains, blood, body parts and chemical concoctions that have become standard practice. It is NOT injected with hormones or antibiotics and raised in its feces. It is free from dyes and chemicals when it's packaged. Only eat organic, grass-fed, hormone & antibiotic- free meat. Do Not eat farm raised fish. If you can't buy fresh, get frozen but read the label. If you eat dairy products, buy raw organic. Real food is Not processed.

Eat the right portions of protein, carbohydrates and fats for you. Play around with it until you find the balance that keeps you full and gives you steady energy until your next meal.

Take a personal challenge and eat this way for 3 months and see how much better you feel. Oh, and how much weight you've lost.

You're Worth It!

With love,
