When I left the church, I thought that was all I needed to do to break cycles and patterns. I was powerless ( I didn’t realize it)  and I had a huge time void to fill mentally and physically. I was also shunned by so-called friends and church family.

Religious Trauma wasn’t even on the map and I had no idea that was what I was experiencing. I just knew I hurt, I was lonely and confused. 

I found myself in and out of the same type of toxic relationships, beliefs,  and groups. 

That is until I realized I needed to break patterns and actually heal, not just talk about it. An ah-ha moment isn’t necessarily healing. It can lead to healing. We can talk ourselves into or out of just about anything. 

Connection is such an important part of our healing process. Not just any connection, healthy connection. Healthy connection is non-judgemental and encourages you to be your authentic self. It loves and supports you on the positive, healing, loving journey you are on. 

Learning how to self-heal is just as important. Most deconstructing groups are about telling your story over and over which can actually do more harm than good until people actually heal. They can be depressing, co-dependent, toxic, and keep us stuck!
